UPDATE 2: Official Statement by Company: Hamburg, 18 April 2020, 0720 hours – Managers Zeaborn Ship Management regret to advise that in the afternoon of 16 April 2020 one of its valued seafarers of its managed container vessel Spirit of Hamburg has suffered fatal injuries following what is believed to be a violent incident with an intruder onboard the ship in the port of Cartagena, Colombia.

UPDATE 1: In a Sad event, the Captain of the container ship was killed by the crew onboard, due to some conflict that arose between the master and crew. This incident took place at the port of Cartagena, Colombia. The name of the ship is Spirit of Hamburg and is managed by the company Zeaborn Ship Management.
Spirit of Hamburg Captain Killed
The name of the captain is Capt. Myo Tun Zaw, 50 years old. He was from country Myanmar. The body of the captain was taken off from the ship. Authorities are yet to publish the full report on the incident as investigation is still under going.
The exact reason for the attack and the killing will be visible once the investigation is completed. Till then we cannot point who did what and what not. It is advised to the people as not to spread any kind of mis-information or wrong info.

Having heard from the statement from the one of the onboard crew,there was an intruder indeed but Columbia port authority would cover it as a fighting between the crews and master just to cover up theirs port facilities security loopholes or could be a one of the stevedores .
If the port authority declared that there was an intruder, it will surely jeopardize the integrity of the port facility.
So I believe they will keep saying that it was mere a fight between ship’s crew and master.
