Italy based shipping company Grimaldi Lines, have ordered 5 new 9000 CEU, car carriers from the Chinese Yards. The expected delivery is to be by 2025-2026 and the overall cost of the ships is said to be around 600+ million dollars.
It is interesting to know that these vessels will be Ammonia ready, which means they can be operated on Ammonia as fuel for the propulsion. Now with world pushing towards being carbon neutral, all companies have started to buy ships which are fueled by unconventional fuels.
