In a recent accident happened in maritime sector, a UK pilot named Francesco Galia, died while transfer operations from boat to the merchant ship. The highly skilled pilot lost his and is not the alone incident happened so far. Every year such cases of fatal and non-fatal accidents do happens with the pilots all around the world.
Incident happened on 8th January. Marine Accident Investigation Branch (UK) has launched an investigation into this case. Transfer operations are always the risky job for so many reasons, like rough weather etc. The need of the hour is to have more stringent rules and training regarding the same.
