In a recent news coming from the shipping world, HMM recently got delivery of their container ship, which is also biggest in the world. Details of the ship are:
NAME: HMM ALGECIRAS
CAPACITY: 23964 CONTAINERS
YARD: Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME)
The ceremony of the naming was itself attended by the south Korean president Moon Jae. As per the news, HMM have placed orders of around 12 MEGABOX carriers from two ship yards namely- DMSE and Samsung Heavy Industries. The vessel is expected to join the Alliance Network.
Earlier the most largest was MSC GULSAN. Over the years the container ships have gone very big in their sizes and carrying capacity.
