Congestion at the two biggest western ports of United States is all time high now. As per the official figures that have come, around 50 ships are waiting outside the port to enter for cargo operations. This is by far the most in this history.
The surge in demand for the imports has led more volume of containership coming to the states. It is increasingly becoming difficult for ports even though carriers have looked for other ports options like Oakland or Portland port. Because of these, the backlog keeps piling up day by day.
Container industry is right now making lot of profit. And surge in trade have even led to shortage of containers. In past week we have seen news that bulk carriers have agreed to carry container on their deck as well.
