Vacancies for TME in Shipping Corporation of India
For which post these application are: The applications are only for the post of TME (Trainee marine Engineer).
What is the Eligibility criterion for this post:
1) Candidates who are applying for this post should hold a degree from following fields only:
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical & Automation Engineering
Candidate with other field degree will not be entertained. Also, all these degrees have to be from the colleges that are approved by the AICTE.
2) Candidate should have scored at least 50 % marks (Final year only) in his or her B.tech program and 50 % marks in the English subject (12th Class).
3) Age criteria: Maximum 28 years as on 1st January 2014. For gernal candidates he or she whould be brn after 01.01.1986 and for the SC/ST candidates the age relaxation is 01.01.1981.
4) Medical fitness: The candidates having colour blindness are not eligible. Fitness of the candidate needs to b as per the MS guidelines.
Selection procedure of Shipping Corporation of India
Well Application that is received by the Shipping Corporation of India will be evaluated first and then only those who fulfill these eligibility criterions will be shortlisted for the written test.
After students have passed the written test, they will be called up for the personal interview. And the ratios of students per vacancy will be 3 candidates for 1 vacancy.
What after the interview
If you are selected in interview, then you will be offered to do a GME course also called as ‘Graduate Mechanical Engineers‘. The duration of this course is for 1 year. The training may be at Kochi or Mumbai as per the SCI guidelines. The fee for this program is around Rs 300000 for this whole course.
