Restrictions By Philippines Lifted on OFW Departures

In an effort to bring the life to normalcy (as other countries relaxing the movement of people), Philippines government has eased the restrictions on the overseas travel for those who want to go outside the country for work. This is valid for both seafarers and other land based installations. Seafarers will be able to join ships for their job. Earlier only health care personals were allowed to go abroad for employment. But now in fresh directory issued by the government, overseas travel agencies can send people for employment outside the country.
Metro Manila, neighboring Laguna province, and Cebu City in Visayas will still remain under strict quarantine. The lockdown will ease in several parts of the country after Sunday. But agencies will be able to operate in any part of the country, no matter the quarantine status of that region. Also government have said to form green channels, so that the document related to overseas travel can be expedited.
