ITF also known as International Transport Worker Federation and JNG- Joint Negotiating Group have come to an agreement regarding the increase of wages of seafarers. From Next year 2022, there will be increase of 3% in wages and from January 2023 another 1.5%.
Employers and Union met in September this year and finally this much percentage was settled between the two organization. Though it was a challenging process considering that the profit margins are different for every employer. But every seafarer across the globe did their best to move the trade all over the world by keeping the ships running. Recognizing this, a salary rise was decided.
Joint Negotiating Group was representing all the employers of the world. Also An increase in JNG members’ rebate from the ITF Welfare Fund to 20% to contribute to the IBF Seafarers Support Fund.
