Indian Maritime University conducted, Common entrance test for candidates who are aspiring to take admissions in to various under graduate and post graduate courses in Shipping Field. imu cet counselling will conclude the counseling process in below days period, and candidates will have to come as per day allotted to them as per rank they have scored. In Total 36 (Thirty Six), maritime colleges are affiliated to IMU. During the counseling process, candidates will have the option of selecting college among these. Counseling will be conducted on: 8th June 2019 to 30thJune 2019. But these are tentative dates
only, and university can change. But these will more likely to remain same because of the fact that the Date of Commencement of Programmes at IMU CET is 1st August. Certificate Verification will take place from 04thJuly 2019 to 31st July 2019. These were important dates for imu cet counselling.

In respect of candidates belonging to General (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories, the date of birth should fall on or after 1st August, 1989. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), the date of birth should fall on or after 1st August, 1984. Those born earlier are not eligible to appear for CET 2014.

You might get a good govt college, as your OBC category, but it will also depend on the fact that, how many are ahead of you in OBC category.
Sponsorship are necessary for 1 YEAR DNS course only. But if you can get now, it will be a relief for you.

IMU is the only way to go for maritime colleges. But it might happen that some college may accept iit mains. But we don't know any of those.

Fees of marine colleges you might be knowing by now. And since placements are not at the best in current situations, there have been cases where students have paid money to agent to get in to ship. But that is very far matter. Presently you should focus on your studies and get good placement, if you are confident about shipping career.

Well it depends on college. Some accept in DD, some in cheque also. So better call them and ask which mode they are comfortable with.

There is no problem in that, till the time you are fulfilling the age criteria. Since you are from engineering side, why not go GME course.

Don't take admission to any college, just because you have to get a degree. Your rank is little higher, but you might get a good college.
