Top Shipping Companies MAERSK and MSC to Discontinue 2M Alliance

2M Alliance which started in the year 2015, will end in 2025 (January). Those who are not aware about this alliance, 2m is a partnership between world top shipping operators, MSC and Maersk. It is Vessel Sharing Agreement, which means both companies can load and use each other ships on specific trade routes like ASIA-EUROPE etc for their cargo.

Such collaboration is helpful as it gives more flexibility and hence improves efficiency the way cargo is transported. The agreement was signed for minimum 10 years. None of the customers is expected to be impacted by this.

MSC which recently took the spot as number 1 shipping line, is on a shopping spree for new vessels (either new or old).
