Indian 3rd officer goes missing from Bulk Carrier- Foul Play?

An Indian 3rd Officer ( Mr. Subobrata Biswal) went missing from a Bulk Carrier named as MV Federal Mayumi- Anglo Eastern. He hails from Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India.

As per the official letter which was issued by the company (Anglo Eastern), he did his regular watch of 8:00-12:00, and was relieved by 2nd mate on 13th May. After that he didn’t interacted with anyone. When at night, 8:00 he didn’t turn up for his watch to relieve Chief Mate, a search was organized by the ship staff all around; they were unable to find him. During this time ship was en-route from Montreal to Bordeaux (France) and was to reach on port on 14th May. Vessel started search and rescue operation with help of MRCC Jersey and MRCC ETEL, along with a French war ship. But they couldn’t find 3rd officer traces anywhere. Search operation was called off as they were not able to find anyone over a larger area at sea.
As per the information that was released by the vessel, he was connected to the ships internet till 17:22 in the evening, but upon searching his cabin, no mobile phone was found! Further information in to this matter is still not available as what happened to him. What happened to the investigation in this case? Has the ship staff been investigated by the independent agency or not!
