HMS VENTURER, 1st OF 31 TYPE Frigate, HAD ITS FIRST STEEL CUT

First of five- 31 type frigate, HMS Venturer had its first steel cut recently. Ceremony of first steel cut took place at Babcock’s factory in Rosyth, Scotland. These new type of frigates will add more power to the surface combat capability of Royal Navy. The good things are not only limited to UK Naval forces but also to employment sector related to the shipbuilding. Around 1200+ plus people will be involved in this project. First ship will be on water by 2023 and all of them are expected to be delivered by 2028.This modern fleet will surely benefit even the allied forces in carrying out all sorts of operations at sea.

Length- 138.7 m (455 ft 1 in)
Installed power-4 × Rolls Royce/MTU 20V 8000 M71 (8.2 MW) diesel engines
4 × Rolls Royce/MTU 16V 2000 M41B (900 kW) generators
Propulsion CODAD configuration, two shafts
Speed 28+ knots
Endurance or travel range 9,000 nautical miles
