Taiwan shipping carrier EVERGREEN, have ordered 24 container ships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding in China. This order comes at a price tag of around $1.1 Billion. This order mostly consists of smaller tonnage of 11 vessels of 2400 TEU capacity, 2 vessels of 1800 TEU capacity and 11 vessels of 3000 TEU capacity.
This size of ship is good for trades for the smaller ports and deeper into the countries. Mostly used as feeder for the bigger terminals. The smaller size offers greater flexibility in terms putting into different kinds of trades all over the world.
